Prove the system before scaling the promise.
This is not a generally available people-search product. Pilot access is reviewed by use case and jurisdiction, and no public unit price or production hit-rate claim is being published while provider rights, cost, and independent outcome measurement are still being established.
Customer delivery turns on only for fields backed by explicit white-label or display rights. Until those rights are recorded for a real source, customer-facing pilot demonstrations use synthetic results. An internal-use license does not authorize Bastro to expose provider data in a page, CSV, webhook, or API response.

The contract boundary exists before live data does.
The shipped sandbox validates a caller-supplied owner name and US address, enforces provider and delivery entitlements, calls a Bastro-owned fixture adapter, caps and deduplicates contacts, and atomically records one terminal result. It does not resolve a parcel, verify the owner, or run a licensed-source waterfall.
The planned live route keeps the same customer-visible request while adding an approved property spine, contact sources, validation, suppression, prepaid billing, and an end-to-end latency budget. Five seconds remains a release target, not a current service-level promise.

Evidence can stop at Bastro.
A source approved for internal investigation may be inspected only by authorized Bastro staff. Its contact values and restricted evidence cannot cross into customer UI, exports, webhooks, or API responses.
Every delivered field needs permission.
Customer output requires explicit OEM, white-label, display, and redistribution rights for the exact field, purpose, tenant, geography, and output mode. Contract expiry, correction, opt-out, or newer conflict invalidates dependent cached results.

The current sandbox costs zero and performs no quote, reservation, capture, or release. Before a priced provider can run, Bastro must ship and verify the model above: charge for a disclosed attempt rather than a guaranteed hit, freeze the billing rule, reconcile every unit, and make idempotent replay spend nothing twice.

The planned first live role is the current property owner in an approved US jurisdiction. Today the sandbox accepts a caller-supplied owner-name hint and makes no ownership determination. Owner, taxpayer, occupant, borrower, trustee, registered agent, relative, and prior owner are not interchangeable.
